An exciting new collaboration of hypnosis and art with botanical artist Sarah Poat

A new collaboration  -  nature, hypnosis and art

My main aim in all my work is to create an environment where wellness can flourish. It's my firm belief that the natural world plays an extremely important role in this. I also know that we can use our minds and imagination to increase our creativity and physical wellness. Therefore I'm delighted to let you know about an exciting new collaboration of nature, hypnosis and art, between myself and Botanical Artist Sarah Poat. Sarah's work as an artist requires a precise observation and recording of the detail of the world of plants. As such, she is an expert in seeing. In my work with hypnosis, I encourage my clients to create rich visual pictures full of detail and imagination.  Sarah and I share a love of walking and nature, which we have realised blends perfectly with our respective skills of art and hypnosis. Our offering together is a workshop we're calling 'Walking and Seeing' we'll be presenting this workshop for the first time at at the Spring Healthy Minds Nourishing Retreat on 29th April 2024.

What is Walking and Seeing all about?

Sarah finds inspiration for her art in the natural world. I find inspiration for my therapy when I'm outside in nature. We both have a fascination and curiosity for seeing deeply into the things we find on our walks. whether thats a reflection in a bubble (like the one in the picture at the top of this article, which is taken by Sarah and is a self portrait) ,or a myriad of green colours in one tiny space. What we both experience is a sense of peace and calm when we allow ourselves to be immersed in what we see.We want our new workshop to increase your sense of wonder, and your ability to seek and find calm by changing your perspective of the natural world. We'll use our respective skills to bring you different ways of noticing and responding to what we find. We'll start by setting our intention, then set out for a walk. We'll stop often, and for as long as we all like, to see and look, hear, touch, maybe even taste, what we find.  When we return, we'll explore our responses to the things we've experienced. This could be with art, guided by Sarah, or in writing. Sally will have guidance for you about how to use the natural world and your responses to create a state of self hypnosis for your benefit.
